Chill Day in Noosa Heads | 1st and last full day in Noosa Heads
I’m loving this Airbnb! Aside from the shitty internet, the AC and ceiling fans are divine! Plus it’s really clean. I woke up and drove down to Hastings Street which is the main drag by the ocean. Lots of boutiques and restaurants. I was surprised to find parking at the far end of the street but stoked! Free 2 hour parking. I did some minor retail therapy and found the passage path to the beach. First time putting my feet in the sand in Australia and it was glorious! Super soft – like powdered sugar. It was really windy though and the water looked a bit rough. I wasn’t wearing my bathing suit so no chance of me going in the water. I wasn’t hungry so after an hour or so I had seen all of what Hastings Street had to offer. There were quite a few people out. Had I known, I would have looked for a hotel room closer to the beach! The hotels lined the street. I was staying about a 15 minute walk away. Didn’t realize the setup in this town.
Once I was done on Hastings, I checked out this path that led me through the woods to another beach. Beautiful! And then I grabbed the car and went further into the beach park to the very end. I sat at a picnic table and watched people wind surf and foil. I must have been there for an hour or so. Very relaxing. I went back to the Airbnb after getting some sun and scoured Google Maps for restaurant reviews near the beach park it was kinda slim pickings. I settled on an Italian restaurant (shocking) that had only a 3.9 rating. Should have known better. The arancini was just okay. And I was super disappointed that the pasta wasn’t homemade. I ordered spaghetti bolognese. I think I’ve had chef boyrdee that was better. Hardly any meat in the sauce and the spaghetti was clearly out of a box. The only positive was the live music. The singer/guitar player was decently good.
I had walked the half mile to the restaurant and decided to walk back. The streets were mostly empty but it was a straight shot to the Airbnb on a Main Street and the street was very well lit. I was back in less than 15 minutes. Time for some Netflix and sleep! Big road trip tomorrow!
