Botanical Gardens & Sleeping Beauty | Sydney Day 4
I ventured out to the Botanical Gardens today. Originally the plan was to leave the Airbnb for the day/night. I walked about 25 minutes to the botanical gardens. They are beautiful! And huge! I strolled through the southern part of the park and exited to grab some lunch.

Stopped at a random cafe for a scrambled egg wrap and latte. Nothing memorable. It was around 2:30 and it was chilly. Colder than I expected. I contemplated going through the rest of the gardens but decided to head back to the Airbnb instead. This way I can grab my jacket.
I headed back out around 5:30pm. Giving myself some time at the Opera House to explore. It was pretty cool seeing the Opera House and the harbor! It was a whole scene too – lots of people at the cafe doing happy hour. I wandered around a bit and then sat at a bench next to a random girl. We started talking – she’s a student doing a semester here from Wales. We chatted for a while and then it was time to go into the ballet! Talk about stairs! Omg. So many to walk up! Good thing the building was a beautiful distraction.

After climbing like 20 flights of stairs, I finally arrived at the door to my seats. I was in the balcony but second row, aisle seat. I was sitting next to a random Asian dude. We didn’t say 2 words to each other all night 🤷🏼♀️ But I had a really good view of the stage and the theatre itself was amazing!

The ballet started on time at 7:30pm. I LOVED it!!! Most of the time I had no idea what was going on but I really enjoyed the dancing. The power in the dancer’s legs was remarkable! It was so beautiful. There were 2 intermissions and the ballet finished at about 10:30pm. It didn’t seem as long as it was.

I went outside and got a Didi. While waiting took pictures. The whole drop off and pickup situation was remarkably organized. The cars would pull into an area off the circle. I found mine easily. Got back to the Airbnb by 11pm, relaxed for a bit and started planning tomorrow – my last day in Sydney AND Australia!
